This past Friday I made the last minute decision to get myself over to NE Volume Music Bar for the gig they had in store. It was set to be three synth based bands performing. But when I got to the venue I sadly found out that one of the bands could no longer perform. It hasn’t been the most fun year at times to say the very least so I just hope that they are alright. With that being said we did still have two acts who I was very excited about watching one of which I have never seen before. That act was the band AXLS. They started with a song that they sound check with a song that has a keynotes riff that was stuck in my head for most of the night. But overall I really enjoyed the bands upbeat synth pop music. It was all upbeat and made you want to dance and just lose yourself in the music. Sadly you cant now because we are living in the plot of the movie Footloose. But they certainly left an impression I enjoyed the last song the most with people singing along to A X L S as the backing vocals went. After they played the band Moodbay hit the stage. Moodbay are really something else and they seem to get better every time that I see them. The music mixes a list of genres which gets balanced by the bands on stage chemistry and style. Again a band who made you want to dance. Hopefully we’ll be able to again soon. Overall it was a fun night and looking its a shame we‘ll have to wait at least a month before headlining back to this wonderful venue. But I have faith I them and think the gigs we have got are just a warm up to what NE Volume will be giving us in 2021 and onward.
