Picasso Baby is an event that gives local artists that chance to get very creative within the walls of Disgrace Land. A venue that is becoming a favorite of mine. I got down early so I could have a look around and it's truly wonderful to see what our local artists have added to the venue. The room started filling up as the night went on and the whole place had an overall positive vibe. I made my way to the bar area and had a few cans before the music started. The first act was Vision 25-C who's set filled with Experimental Electronics really added to the atmosphere of the event. If you really listen to the music and get into the moment of it all there's really a lot going on. It seems to really give performers like Vision 25-C the chance to express themselves within a sound that sounds like organised chaos. Everyone seemed to really enjoy the whole experience as well. After the set we were treated to a performance by Coll Metcalfe who performs as a Deaf Performer she performed this to the Disturbed's incredible cover of Sound of Silence. That's what I love about these kinds of events I get to see the type of performances I don't usually see. I really enjoyed the performance it was very creative and great to watch. The third performer was Faithful Johannes a spoken word electro performer. His style of creative story telling and ability to engage with the crowd via the lyric signs he brings is really suited to the event. The was a few issue with his Microphone cutting out during songs but he saved that by shouting his lyrics over the music. That to me added to really added to the creativity that Faithful Johannes brings with him every time he performs live. Again another act that went down very well with the people in attendance. The music performances finished with a full band set from James Leonard Hewitson and his music was the perfect was to end of event. A set filled with upbeat Alternative Indie Rock tunes has people dancing and just having an awesome time. He performed songs from his upcoming album which include his two recent singles "Deader" and "Dance Track". The whole event was fantastic it's great to see so many people really get into the event and everything around them.
